KAZIUK 2015

Kaziuk it’s a day of the patron of Poland and Lithuanian – St. Casimir, who died in 4 of March 1484 in Grodno. He was only 26-year old prince and he had to ascend to the throne after Kazimierz Jagielończyk.

After opening ceremony and playing the bugle call of Vilnius and Poznan, as every year was a parade consist of Jagiellons family and bands taking part in the event.

Wielkopolanie presented an artistic program which was specially prepared for this occasion. Visitors were able to enjoy the fun of the Polish nobility in the performance “Wezmę ja żupan” and others dances or songs from Wielkopolska, Beskid Śląski, Krakowiak Wschodni and Krakowiak Narodowy.

Dancers from group “Wielkopolanie” did not forget about Women's Day. Each of the girls on the audience received postcards showing the dancers from “Wielkopolanie” in costumes of Bambers from Poznań.

In addition to the festival “Kaziuki” in Poznań is also a traditional jarmark. During this event Poznanians procure the palm trees and other decorations connected with Easter. On the stalls there was a possibility to purchased for example black Vilnius bread, eat “cepeliny” and “bliny” or buy Kaziuk hearts.
